RESOURCES
The building
blocks for accurate pricing
Resources
are the basic materials, plant and services you need in order to complete
your job tasks. With
Fast Estimate you can maintain a library of all the resources needed to
price work accurately.
Resources
are split into 5 main types: MATERIAL, LABOUR, PLANT, SUBCONTRACTOR, LUMP
SUM. There are also 5 user-definable types (See Setting
Resource Type option). Within the Resource Types, individual resources
are held in Categories.
We have
supplied sample resource data to help demonstrate how the library can
be configured to suite your individual company needs. You can change any
resource or Category to suite your own individual needs.
Main Features
- Design/adjust your resource library to suite your needs
- Copy
or move resources or blocks of resources (e.g. for splitting large Categories)
- Any resource
changes automatically update all library items using these resources
- Resource
changes can optionally be applied to those used within Schedules
- Assign
a supplier to your resource to allow
you to create an enquiry/order for that supplier once a job has been
won
- Trace
the use of a selected resource within both your libraries and schedules
- Replace
selected resources throughout your library of rates
Tips
- Maintain
your own resource library by editing the existing Categories and individual
resources to suit. If you need to reorganise, you can cut and paste
them (in blocks) between Categories if you wish.
- Keep
your resource library well structured so you can find items easily -
As a general rule you should consider splitting Categories containing
more than 50-60 resources.
- If another
supplier offers you a better price, simply change the resource supplier
(Date of change is stamped on resource and displayed at foot of screen).
- If you
decide to change one resource with another of a similar type, consider
using the Resource Replacement option for instant update of your rates.
Your item
library will always be automatically updated to reflect any changes made
to your resources.
