SCHEDULE RESOURCES

The resources you will need to complete the job and how much they will cost

Use this function to list all the resources used within a selected schedule.

Main Features

• Resources filtered by Type (Labour only, Material only etc.)
• A cost confirmation sheet for this Schedule
• Update to Current Prices option
• Resource Replacement if you would prefer to use something else

There are several important functions associated with the schedule resources:

UPDATE TO CURRENT PRICES

This does exactly as it says, updates the selected resource(s) to the latest resource library value. Remember that resources copied from the Resource Library (directly or via the Item Library) are copies of the original and therefore if the original is changed the Schedule copy is not. In most cases this is how most people would want it.

This feature is therefore particularly useful for jobs that may have been placed on hold for a period of time and have now been resurrected for final adjustments.

RESOURCE REPLACEMENT

Try replacing one type of labour resource with another and see the effect. Another time saving feature that's worth mastering.

VIEW SETTINGS - UNREFERENCED RESOURCES

This feature is useful for showing up resources no longer being used in the Schedule (Items may have been deleted). If there are none in the current Schedule, try loading another. Click on the View Setting button and switch on the Unreferenced Resources option. All unreferenced resources are highlighted with a blue background. These can be deleted from the list if required.

Note: your setting is kept for all tables using this feature until you switch it off again.

Notes

1. Any changes made here are applied only to the currently selected Schedule - your resource library remains unchanged
2. All changes are applied throughout the current Schedule
3. You can also access Schedule Resources for a specific item. Drill down on the resource within the item Buildup to view the resource data values for this schedule (May or mau not be same as library)
4. For Composite Resources you can drill down to view the individual resources and of course make any changes to the build up

Tips

1. Use this function to enter schedule specific discounts.
2. Use the Trace function to find out where specified resources are used in the schedule.
3. If your prices have recently been updated, select all resources (click on column) and click the Update to Current Prices button.
4. Use the Resource Replacement function to replace one resource with another throughout the schedule.
